    In 2023, was held a walrus science community workshop to explore how satellite imagery could support walrus monitoring and conservation. A key outcome was the recommendation to make the Atlantic walrus haul-out site database (developed as part of the Walrus from Space project) publicly accessible, with potential access restrictions to limit use by the tourism industry.
